We were very excited here at RØDE this month to see several RØDE Rockers and EVENT users win awards for their work across a range of creative fields.

Congratulations to both Paul Epworth and Adele, who took out the Oscar® for the Best Original Song at the 85th Academy Awards earlier this month. Their song ‘Skyfall’ was recorded for the recent Bond film of the same name, and has been topping iTunes charts across the globe since its release. Paul is a RØDE Rocker who has previously worked with Adele, recording her ‘Rolling in the Deep’ on his Classic II - read about their recording process here!

Kudos also go to Paul Ottosson, who mixes on the Event Opal monitors, for sharing the Best Sound Editing Oscar® for his work on ‘Zero Dark Thirty‘ with ‘Skyfall’s sound editing team, in a rare Acadamy Awards tie.

Last but by no means least, congratulations are due to fellow aussie Wally de Backer, aka Gotye, for a great night at the Grammys®. Gotye took out the award for Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo Peformance, and Best Alternative Album for his amazing record ‘Making Mirrors’, which was mixed on Event Opals with Franc Tetaz & himself at Andy Stewart’s studio “The Mill”. Check out some great photos of the mixing session here atAlain Bouvier Photography's blog.
